OCS Concept Range

The Control Concept Range evolved as a practical and cost effective alternative to the convention of supplying a ‘one off’ centralised control panel, traditionally deemed necessary to incorporate all the ancillary electrical components, ie: D.O.L. starters, lamps, switches, fuses, etc. The concept embraces the principle of distributed control technology. Controller, boilers, pumps etc. are connected through interface relays capable of connections from all other ancillary safety or other devices which may be necessary for overall plant control.

Control Panel

The ‘OCS’ unit incorporates the compensator/optmiser controller and boiler status indicators. Boiler sequence changeover is automatic and can be set to a 7 day or 24 hour changeover mode. The OCS unit will house an automatic temperature control system, incorporating the latest innovations for modern compensator/optimiser units, boiler sequence facility, pump overun, frost protection and other energy saving and service functions.

Circulating Pump

The plant circulating pumps will be controlled by a run and standby D.O.L. starter set mounted adjacent, having a main isolator , pump selector switch and pump run and trip indicator lamps. This unit incorporates automatic pump changeover to the standby pump on a run pump ‘trip’ fault. Changeover from No.1 to No.2 pump will also occur automatically, set for 7 days or 24 hours.

Compensator/Optimiser Controllers

We currently supply the Honeywell 'Smile' controller as the prime drive for OCS control concept solutions. This unit offers multiple choices and plant arrangements enabling operation of up to 3 No. heating zones and domestic hot water services incorporating also Solar Heat Source control.
